Ida May Ritter Englehart of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Camp Hill. Born December 16, 1926, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, Ida May was the daughter of the late Ross and Louisa (Brown) Ritter. In the Fall of 1947, she married Richard T. Englehart. Together, they traveled to all 50 states and throughout the world.
Ida May was a 1943 graduate of Upper Darby High School. In 1946, she received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now, University of Sciences). She worked in many areas of pharmacy, including community, hospital and as Executive Secretary of the State Board of Pharmacy, but her favorite was nursing home consultant pharmacy. She maintained her pharmacy license for more than 65 years and was the oldest pharmacist to become certified in geriatric pharmacy. She was a member and past president of both the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, and the Capital Area Pharmacy Association. She was also a member of the American Pharmacists Association, and a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. Fraternally, Ida May was a founding member of KE’s (Kappa Epsilon) Omicron Chapter.
Ida May was a member of the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, where she served as a church elder, a leader of the Presbyterian Women and longtime choir member. She is survived by a daughter, Diane L. Fusco (John) of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, two sons, David L. Englehart (LuAnn Gallup) of Harrisburg and J. Mark Englehart (Debbie) of Montgomery, Alabama; five grandchildren: Stephanie Ward of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Fusco of Winchester, Virginia, Paul Fusco of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, Brooke Shaffer (Josh) of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, and Amie Englehart of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and their mother Jennifer Patton; and two great-grandchildren: Landon and Maddox Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas Englehart, their son, R. Thomas Englehart, Jr., and her brother, Ross Ritter.
Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday October 24, 2015, at the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Dr. David Roquemore officiating, and reception to follow. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, October 23, 2015, at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, is handling funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church at the address listed above.
